International Day of Persons with Disabilities Commemorated in Qazvin

QAZVIN - Disability Association of Tavana (DAT) commemorated International Day of Persons with Disabilities at its conference hall in Qazvin, the capital of the Qazvin Province, on 6 December 2017. Senior officials from Qazvin City, including Managing Director of Design Services Organization of the Qazvin Municipality, Mohammad Esmaeil Hafezir; Managing Director of Qazvin Bus Organization, Mohammad Hassan Irankhah; Urologist Dr. Ali Akbar Karami and members of Tavana Board of Directors as well as some disabled persons attended the ceremony.

QAZVIN - Disability Association of Tavana (DAT) commemorated International Day of Persons with Disabilities at its conference hall in Qazvin, the capital of the Qazvin Province, on 6 December 2017.

Senior officials from Qazvin City, including Managing Director of Design Services Organization of the Qazvin Municipality, Mohammad Esmaeil Hafezir; Managing Director of Qazvin Bus Organization, Mohammad Hassan Irankhah; Urologist Dr. Ali Akbar Karami and members of Tavana Board of Directors as well as some disabled persons attended the ceremony.

DAT Managing Director, Mohammad Reza Hadipour, while expressing his special greetings on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, said that the effective steps  should be taken in order to provide appropriate services to  people with disabilities.

Mohammad Hassan Irankhah said some 40 new public buses equipped with ramps have been provided in Qazvin to facilitate disabled people’s transportation and they are in several places of the city.

Mohammad Esmaeil Hafezi stated that 90% of the main sidewalks in Qazvin are compatible for disabled persons use. He said other measures have been taken to improve entrances to all parks for persons with disabilities.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a special therapeutic workshop for people with spinal cord injury was held by Dr. Ali Akbar Karami, and DAT Health Department.

At the end of the ceremony, the message of the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, was distributed amongst the audience.
